These Terms govern your use of Naamji — a baby-naming web app operated from India. By creating an account or continuing to use the site, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please stop using the product.
Naamji is a discovery and suggestion product. It helps you:
Naamji is not a legal, medical, religious, or astrological advisory service. Nakshatra and numerology matches are offered as cultural signals to help you narrow a choice; they are not a substitute for guidance from a priest, family elder, or any professional.
You may use Naamji for personal, non-commercial purposes — to find a name for your own child or a child in your family.
You may not:
We may suspend or remove accounts that breach these rules.
The curated names, etymology, editorial one-liners, collection titles and descriptions, illustrations, quiz flow, and written copy on Naamji are ours. You may read and share them for personal use, but you may not republish or resell them without written permission.
When you submit a nickname suggestion, write a note on a shortlisted name, or create a family vote session, that content stays yours. By submitting it you grant Naamji a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host and display it in the product. For nicknames that we accept into the public library, the licence also includes the right to show them to other parents, with or without the attribution you provided.
You are responsible for the content you submit and confirm it is yours to share.
A family vote link is public to anyone who has the URL. Please share it only with people you trust. Certificates that you download or share carry the baby's name you chose; you control who you send them to.
Parts of Naamji use AI to rank suggestions, generate nicknames, and surface matches. AI output can occasionally be wrong, incomplete, or mis-classify a meaning or etymology. Treat AI output as a starting point, not a final authority — especially for religious or cultural accuracy. Please cross-check with your family or a priest before finalising a name.
Nakshatra, rashi, numerology, and origin information are drawn from long-standing cultural traditions. Different schools disagree on some details. We try to represent the mainstream consensus faithfully, but we do not claim these signals predict outcomes. Any decisions you make based on them are yours.
Naamji today is free to use. Some future features — for example, the full Nicknamer after a free limit — may require a subscription. If we introduce paid features, the price, billing cycle, and refund policy will be shown before you pay, and these Terms will be updated.
We try to keep Naamji running smoothly, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Features may be added, changed, or removed without notice. When changes are meaningful — for example, a breaking change to how shortlists work — we will notify signed-in users in-app or by email.
Naamji is provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the name suggestions will match your expectations, that meanings are verified across every dialect, or that any particular name will be approved by your family.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Naamji, its founders, and its employees are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the product, including emotional distress, family disputes, or loss of opportunity. Our total liability for any direct loss, in any twelve-month period, is limited to the amount you have paid to Naamji in that period (which is typically zero).
You agree to indemnify Naamji against claims arising from your misuse of the product, your breach of these Terms, or any content you submit that infringes a third party's rights.
You can delete your account at any time — see the Privacy Policy, Section 8. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these Terms, with notice where practical. On termination, your rights under these Terms end, but Sections 5.1, 10, 11, 12, and 15 continue to apply.
We may update these Terms. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest change. For material changes we will notify signed-in users by email or an in-app banner. If you keep using Naamji after a change takes effect, you are agreeing to the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be decided by the competent courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
Questions or grievances: hello@naamji.app. Please put "Terms" in the subject line so we route it correctly.
